We start with the résumé you already have (if you have one!) and ask that you send it to us as a Word document. We also ask you to fill out a questionnaire to jog your memory about your accomplishments and the skills you used to be successful. After completing the questionnaire and sending it back to us, we arrange a time to talk, either by phone or email (or a combination of both- whatever works best for you) to make sure that we have all of the information we need to round out your profile. We know what to ask to draw out any potentially overlooked pieces of information that you may not have already incorporated into your résumé.
Then we structure your resume so that the employer can quickly and easily see your fit with the position, as well as the qualifications that will showcase you as the best candidate for the job. It usually takes three to five business days to get a draft for your approval.
At that point, we'll answer any questions that you may have, make any revisions and email you the final version in Word and plain text. If you need a cover letter, let us know and we can do that too.
If you have a résumé that you’ve been using and aren’t sure if it’s up to par, ask for a free résumé critique. You’ll receive an evaluation of your résumé, which takes into account your career goals and provides feedback on how well your current résumé is helping you meet those goals.
In some cases, the best way to help individuals better their chances of finding a job is to provide group training in résumé writing. We have experience delivering a variety of workshops in both corporate and academic environments, and are adept at teaching individuals and groups how to create or improve their résumés with easy to implement, proven techniques that increase their chances of success in the job marketplace.
Résumé workshops can be conducted at schools or companies that want to empower their students or employees to have more control over their careers. Hardcopy materials detailing résumé creation with samples, keywords, and resume writing tips are provided to all participants in conjunction with a dynamic, effective presentation.
Interview coaching consists of two parts, a coaching session and a mock interview session. At the coaching session, you'll receive information on the different styles of interviews, sample questions that may be asked, and more importantly, how to answer them. You will also receive a study guide to read through and prepare for your mock interview.
